I tested xine with a recording from another machine had great sound. ~ $ ffmpeg -f x11grab -r 30 -s 1280x1024 -i :0.0 -acodec pcm_s16le -vcodec libx264 -threads 0 output.mkvĪnn the video was excellent bit the output from "xine output.mkv" was totally mute. Playing with the audio settings, I just couldn't get sound on playback. media-video/simplescreenrecorder-0.3.11-r2::gentoo USE="asm mp3 vorbis x264 -jack -pulseaudio -theora -vpx" ABI_X86="32 (64) (-x32)" 0 KiB

This is okay for some things, but for others, like musical instruments, game consoles, etc., the lag makes it pretty much unusable for these uses.īack in alsa this used to work fine without lag. However, the audio that comes out is about half a second behind the audio coming in. I can route the mic input through output.
